Hey all – We just returned from Council Bluffs where we’ve been attending the Professional Photographers of America Heart of America Conference and we had a blast!!! We met a ton of new photographers and learned so much!
The official highlight of our trip was when I got to meet a photographer who’s work I’ve been admiring for years now. Two and a half years ago when I was starting this business, I was searching online for a photographer’s work that inspired me. I happened to come across a photographer by the name of David Jay. David Jay is one of the largest names in the wedding photography industry and Stephen and I were lucky enough to attend his seminar today! DJ even accompanied us (and about 20 other photographers) to lunch at Famous Daves. The problem came in when we started all asking him so many questions he didn’t even get time to finish his burger! Sorry DJ! Hope you were able to munch it down on your way back to the next session!
DJ – thank you so much for sharing your work, philosophy and knowledge on the wedding industry. You are an amazing photographer/businessman…Stephen and I feel blessed that we got to hang out with you!

I’m not sure why we didn’t pick up our camera more…but our friend Hannah did! During our meal with the 20+ photographers Hannah grabbed my camera and got some fun shots. I wish I would have gotten fun shots of all of our new friends, though! Quick shout out to everyone we met…we loved getting to know you all!
