If you know me well, you know I am a dreamer…a passionate dreamer. When I get an idea in my head, there is hardly an opportunity to stop me before I chase down my dream and grab it, fists clenched, and hold on for dear life.
I have been really blessed to get the chance to live out many of my dreams (one being this little photography business!) I get to photograph people in the most amazing moments of their lives…unreal!
But, I have had one photography dream I didn’t think I would ever be able to live out. As you may have noticed, I realllllly like fashion…clothes, makeup, shoes, the works. And, I have always been fascinated with fashion photograhy. The idea of photographing models, with stylists and directors around has always taken my breath away. But, honestly, I live in rural Iowa…not that many fashion magazines are located here!
So, when I received an email early this summer from Michel at Hoopla Magazine in Cedar Rapids, asking us to start shooting assignments for them, my jaw dropped. Hoopla is, “A weekly entertainment magazine written for and by young adults about everything from nightlife to networking.” And, to top it all off, my first assignment from Hoopla was to be one of three photographers in Eastern Iowa selected to shoot models for their Fall Fashion Issue.
I waited, with baited breath until our scheduled shoot in late August. My studio was filled with models, stylists and two creative directors. My job was to create striking images of some of Fall’s most popular styles.
I looooooooooved it. More please????
Check out some of my favorite images below. Check out Hoopla’s Fashion Gallery for more…and, if you want to see even more…go to a local newspaper stand and grab a copy of Hoopla…it’s complimentary!!
